Audit Chess

Feature

Build your opening repertoire and practise it against the engine

By

Knowing your openings is not the same as being able to play them. The Audit Chess repertoire builder lets you build lines for White and Black, or derive a starting repertoire automatically from the openings you already play most, then practise them until they are automatic. Exact practice checks your recall move for move; dynamic practice hands off to Stockfish once you leave the book, so you learn to punish the sidelines your opponents actually try instead of only the main line. Trap hints from a mined database flag the tricks hiding in your lines. It is free, needs no account, and runs in your browser on top of your real game history.

Build it, or derive it from your own games

Start from scratch and enter the moves you want to play, or let Audit Chess derive a repertoire from your blitz and rapid history - the openings you already reach most often, with the engine noting where a stronger move exists. Either way you end up with a named, reusable set of lines for both colours.

Exact recall and dynamic out-of-book drills

Exact practice tests whether you remember your own lines move for move. Dynamic practice is the harder, more useful drill: it plays your repertoire back at you and, the moment you go off book, the engine takes over and tries realistic deviations - so you rehearse the replies to the sidelines opponents actually play, not just the theory.

Move grading accepts anything within a small margin of the best move, so a sensible transposition or equally good alternative still passes rather than being marked wrong.

How it compares to dedicated repertoire tools

Chessbook and Chessable are excellent if you want spaced-repetition scheduling or an author-led course. What Audit Chess uniquely offers is deriving the repertoire from your own games and stress-testing it against realistic engine deviations - and it is free with no account.
